PEOPLE'S CHOICE
PEOPLE'S CHOICE RESULTS:
WOW! The people's choice section of the '05 show had another first time winner when an entry by Bob and
Donna Himmelberg finished in the top spot.

Bob and Donna defied the odds with their entry of Wow. The odds being that a bi-color flower usually draws
the attention of the visiting public and attracts the most votes. Such was the case the previous two years
when Lou and Pat Gerardi claimed the award in '03 with Lakewood Joe, (a dark red and white flower), and
last year when Jim and Marge Boever rode Aitara Diadem, (another dark red and white flower), to victory.
Neither were eligible for the 2005 competition but three other Bi-Colors were in the field of 12 entries and
split the over all vote, which allowed Wow to take the top spot by a narrow 13 vote margin over Duet, (yet
another red and white flower).

The total vote cast were well down from previous years because of dreary, rainy weather on Sunday, the
second day of the show. The Garden reported fewer than 300 visitors on Sunday.
